Our 10th anniversary is coming up and I want to get something memorable. We both enjoy medium-bodied reds — think Pinot Noir and Merlot. The restaurant allows BYO. Any suggestions for something special under HK$500?
For a 10th anniversary, you need something with a story. Look for a Burgundy — a village-level Gevrey-Chambertin or Volnay from a good producer. Domaine Faiveley or Joseph Drouhin make beautiful bottles in that range. If you want something from the new world, look for Felton Road Pinot Noir from Central Otago — absolutely stunning and around HK$450.
